Biography
Michelle Badion and Evan Wallace have been dancing, teaching, and performing Tango in Seattle since 1996, and travel frequently to Argentina and other Tango communities throughout the world in pursuit of their shared obsession. Together, they have taught and performed alongside the world's finest Tango artists, including teaching at international events such as Buenos Aires in Las Vegas (with Julio and Corina, Chicho and Lucia, Fabian and Carolina, El Pulpo and Louisa, Nito and Elba, and others), and in many other events in Oregon, California, British Columbia, Mexico, and Alaska.
They have been featured in cabarets and traveling stage shows such as Tango Nights, Tango Dreams, and Tangoing, where they were the only non-Argentinians in a cast that included Fernanda and Guillermo, Carolina and Diego, and Armando and Daniella.
Michelle has been dancing her entire life, beginning with classical ballet, and has taught partner dancing full-time for the past 13 years. She specializes in Argentine Tango, salsa, and West Coast swing, and won the Washington Stage Open in West Coast swing in 1995. She has performed with the world's finest tango dancers, including Carlos Gavito, Fabian Salas, Omar Vega, Manuel Ortiz, and many others. She is also a prolific producer of Tango performances, and has brought stage shows and cabarets to Seattle, Portland, Tacoma, and Hawaii.
Evan is a physicist, inventor, and software entrepreneur. He draws heavily on his scientific background to lend a unique analytical perspective to all his classes, emphasizing the fundamental physical principles underlying the dance. Together, Evan and Michelle strive to help their students grasp the endless beauty, sensuality, strength, and passion of the Tango.
