Upcoming
beginning club-STYLE Tango
This class
is designed for anyone wishing
to begin Tango and learn in an
organized, thoughtful, and fun
environment. Evan will focus on
the fundamentals of social
dancing required to confidently
navigate crowded Tango clubs around Seattle and around
the world. Dance follows at
Madrid 522 to give students a
chance to try out their new
skills.
advanced investigations in
Tango
Each four-week series
will focus on a particular
aspect, style, or topic in
Tango, and investigate it in
exhaustive depth. This class is appropriate
for intermediate through
professional dancers. It is the
depth of coverage more than the
difficulty of the material that
makes this class advanced, so
intermediate dancers who are
strongly motivated will feel
comfortable in this class. Past
topics have included the Tango
of El Pulpo, the Dynamic Close
Embrace, the physics of
Tango, and milonga and waltz.
THE
TANGO OF TIGHT SPACES: The
first series will investigate the
Tango of crowded dance floors.
Tango is a social dance--when we
dance, we are dancing not just
with our partners but with
everyone else on the floor. The
focus of this course will be
developing the navigational
skills, partnering skills, and
vocabulary necessary to dance in
tight spaces with creativity and
musicality. Learn how to
love--not just tolerate, but
love--the creative opportunities
and challenges afforded by
crowded conditions. This is a
perfect primer for anyone going
to Buenos Aires.
